Australian caravan site struck by lightning

There’s been some pretty extreme weather affecting the UK over the past few weeks, however our caravan customers have one reason to be grateful: at least they haven’t been struck by lightning!

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Cotton Tree holiday park in Australia, which fell victim to a lightning strike during a recent storm.

Two of the site’s residents were affected by the incident and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, though thankfully neither sustained serious injuries.

Although a lightning strike is a rare occurrence, there are many, more common ways in which the weather can damage your caravan – from hail stone dents to water leaks.

Taking out caravan insurance could ensure that you’re not left out of pocket if your touring caravan is damaged in bad weather.

You can get an online touring caravan insurance quotation from Coast or you can speak to a member of our sales team by calling Freephone 0800 614 849.
