Bailey builds cat caravan for adopted feline

A caravan dealership in Albrighton, Shropshire, has a new mascot after adopting a stray cat, who now lives in at the site in a custom-made caravan!

Cosford Caravans noticed the creature, which they simply named ‘Cat’, wandering around their premises and, suspecting she had been abandoned, they began to feed her on a regular basis. Over the past six years, Cat has become a permanent member of the workforce.

When Cosford’s rivals Bailey heard about the dealership’s new four-legged resident, it built a special feline-sized caravan for Cat to live in. The 3ft miniature tourer features a model kitchen and fleece-lined bed, and is worth £1,500.

“The manager [of the Bailey dealership] spotted her mooching around and he asked about her. I told him she was put outside at night and she just slept somewhere round the back of the site,” Cosford Caravans owner Mervyn Hughes told the Daily Mail website.

“I didn’t think anything more of it, but then much to our amazement a miniature caravan arrived at our site, purpose-built by the Bailey engineers in Bristol, especially for our cat. I must admit I was a bit amazed. In my 28 years here, I have never seen anything quite like it. I was amazed it was made from scratch so quickly.”

Coast doesn’t cover cat caravans, however we can offer you comprehensive touring caravan insurance and static caravan insurance for your own leisure vehicle. For a competitive quotation, give our UK based sales team a call on Freephone 0800 614 849 or click here.
