Extended family holidays on the rise

New research as revealed a growing trend in up to three generations of family choosing to go on holiday together.

Statistics unveiled by holiday park group Best of British state that adult couples are taking their parents away with them on their annual break as well as their children.

In addition to spending quality time together, going away in larger groups lowers the cost of taking a break in this challenging economic climate.

“Now British ‘staycations’ are gaining ground, families are using the opportunity to come together and enjoy each other’s company in neutral territory away from home,” remarked Claire Jeavons from Best of British. “As well as sharing expenses, it also means Mum and Dad have a built-in child care service so that they can make an occasional escape and be just a couple again.”

If you’re planning to escape somewhere in the UK with your family this summer, make sure you check that your motorhome insurance or caravan insurance is up to date before setting off.
