Happy anniversary to the BH&HPA!

Coast would like to wish the British Holiday and Home Parks Assocation (BH&HPA) a very happy diamond jubilee.For the past 60 years, the BH&HPA has played a vital role in improving safety regulations, legal rights and general standards of Britain’s park homes and holiday lodges.

Since its formation in 1952, the organisation’s member numbers have expanded from 500 to 2,600 parks across the UK today.

Perhaps its greatest achievement was being instrumental in setting up the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act in 1960, which established legislation specific to park home owners. Previously park homes and static caravans had fallen under the same guidelines as sheds, tents and vans, but these landmark guidelines catered for park home residents’ unique needs and formed the basis of the planning and development laws still in place today.
