Kimberley Caravans welcomes first female apprentice

We were delighted to see that 18-year-old Sammy McLaughlin has become the first female trainee mechanic at Kimberley Caravans.

Sammy has already completed a course in motor vehicles at her local college and, according to the newspaper the Northern Echo, she will now repair and service motorhomes and caravans for the Darlington-based firm.

Her tutor Paul Tunnicliffe is thrilled with his former pupil’s apprenticeship. “We currently have 12 female students on our motor vehicle courses here at the college and we are seeing it becoming more popular year on year,” the Darlington College course leader told the Northern Echo. “It is incredibly good news that Sammy has taken up an apprenticeship with such a prestigious company as Kimberley Caravans.”
