Prepare for the festival season
It is not long now until the festival season is finally upon us. As well as sunshine and dancing, many of us are also aware of the thick mud, pouring rain and blocked toilets that await the thousands this summer. So here at as Coast we ask – why suffer spending the night camping in a soggy sleeping bag when you could take your very own mobile home!
Glastonbury festival is the UK’s biggest and with hundreds of thousands of visitors every year it also qualifies as one of the largest caravan and motorhome meets in the UK. Festivals are seeing continual growth year on year so maybe it’s time you got a slice of the action – in comfort!
For those of you who have been lucky enough to get tickets this summer or those who are looking to embark upon the adventure next year, here are a few things to consider:
- Firstly check that the festival allow for the type of vehicle that you plan on staying in, some festivals are limited on a space and may only allow for camping in tents
- Many festivals have designated caravan/campervan camping sites, so don’t make the assumption that you will be sleeping in the car park!
- Often separate tickets need to be purchased for caravans/campervans, these can often be bought at the same time as your main festival tickets
- Be aware it is highly likely everyone staying on site in the caravan/campervan will be required to obtain a festival ticket too
- If you are taking a caravan check you are able to pack your car beside it, you may be charged extra for members of your party arriving and needing to park additional vehicles too
- Keep in mind If your vehicle is longer than 8 meters you may be required to purchase two caravan/campervan tickets to cover the extra space required
- Check whether you are allowed to take glass bottles as some festival do not allow for glass anywhere on site
Lastly, check what facilities are available in the field that you will be staying in and what security is provided, it is important you know that your belongings are safe. Here at Coast we offer competitive rates on your caravan or motorhome insurance, Freephone 0800 614 849 for a telephone quotation. We also offer touring caravan insurance quotes online.
