The Queen’s caravan goes up for sale

2013 marks the 65th anniversary of Bailey Caravans, and you may have seen Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh visit the manufacturer’s manufacturing headquarters last year as part of the royal jubilee celebrations.

The event created a media storm, with images of the Queen inspecting Bailey’s Approach SE 760 motorhome and Unicorn Cadiz touring caravan being splashes across several national newspapers.

In fact, the attention these two models have attracted since being given the royal seal of approval is so great that Bailey has decided to put them up for auction!

The bidding war is only open to dealers that are part of Bailey’s Retailer Network, however the winner will have the opportunity to subsequently sell the caravan or motorhome they purchase to one of their customers.

As proof of their royal status, the Approach motorhome and Unicorn Cadiz caravan will come with a framed photograph of the Queen’s visit, a certificate of authenticity and the winning dealers will be invited for a factory tour and lunch with the company’s directors. All proceeds from the auction will be given to a Bristol charity.

Although members of the public won’t be able to participate in the auction, they can still get their hands on one of the 7,500 units that Bailey manufactures each year.
