Wimbledon 2013 – Dustin Brown – why he has our support
Some of us in the UK will be on the fence as to whether we are routing for Andy Murray this year and will be looking for someone else to get behind, although it does seem like people have been warming to him over the past couple years – must be about time surely?
Here at Coast though, someone else has got our attention, that man is called Dustin Brown. With a Jamaican father and a German mother he recently switched nationalities in 2010 to fully represent Germany. Dustin Brown gained entry to Wimbledon as a wild-card qualifier and yesterday he advanced to the 3rd round of the men’s Wimbledon draw. But the real reason he has our support is that Dustin used to live and travel across Europe in a Campervan and that was a match made in heaven for us. Once we found this out there was no way we were going to be able support anyone else but our man Dustin.
Victory in the 2nd round
Yesterday was a day that will go down in history and be long remembered by not only Dustin but also by the staff here at Coast Insurance, gripped by the thrilling action on TV, work momentarily grinded to a holt as Dustin took care of business against Leyton Hewitt (world no.70) and battled his way to victory in the 2nd round winning the first two sets and the 4th set as well (6–4, 6–4, 6–7 (3–7), 6–2). In actual fact, it could be argued that he had already gone one better in his opening match where he defeated the world no.67 in straight sets (6–3, 6–3, 6–3).
Our support
Considering Dustin is still in the competition and will be focussing on his big game tomorrow we thought it best to leave him be. But be sure that once Wimbledon is over and Dustin Brown is basking in the glory of what has already been a fantastic performance we will be in touch with him regarding his campervan insurance, a man with his new found fame and a campervan certainly makes for an interesting story in the Coast Insurance offices.
