Winter Storage Requirements

The time has come when a lot of people are packing up their touring caravan for winter.  We thought it would be a good idea to remind you of the security requirements that Coast requires.

All Single Axle caravans should have a hitch lock and a wheel lock in place when left unattended for more than two hours. If the caravan has an alarm or tracker then these should also be set.

All Twin Axle caravans should have a hitch lock and two wheel clamps in place or a hitch lock wheel lock and an alarm set.

Winter Wheels are a good idea as well to save your caravan tyres from perishing over the winter months.

Coast would recommend that the tyres are stored away from the caravan whilst winter wheels are being used. Before putting your road wheels back on it is advisable that they are at the right pressure as they could have lost pressure over the winter whilst they have not been on the caravan.

I know that a lot of our clients leave their caravan on seasonal pitches and also in caravan parks with winter storage. Coast does have some special arrangements with various parks where storage and security requirements are different, so please do give us a ring to see if we have an arrangement with your park.

Have a happy and safe winter. The spring will be here before you know it!
