Actress-turned-chef yearns for campervan holiday

Outdoor living isn’t just for everyday people, it seems – a host of celebrities enjoy the fresh air and freedom of life in a campervan. The latest famous face to confess a love for campervanning is actress-turned-chef Lisa Faulkner, who recently appeared at The Caravan & Camping Show in Birmingham.

Lisa put on a special cookery demonstration at the NEC event, showcasing the skills she has developed since winning Celebrity Masterchef in 2010. The concept of her dishes were ‘one pot wonders’ and tasty barbecued meals that can easily be cooked on a caravan or campervan holiday.

“Just because people are camping, it doesn’t mean that they can’t eat nice food,” Lisa told the Daily Mail ahead of her appearance. “You can buy ribs from the supermarket, make a marinade and put the whole thing in a freezer bag overnight – not to freeze it, but to make sure that the marinade really gets into the ribs – and barbecue it the next day. That’s very easy to do.”

The influence of outdoor living has seemingly inspired Lisa in more than just culinary ways, too. “I love the idea of a campervan,” she remarked to the newspaper. “I’d like to hire one and go all around the country. I once did a TV show called Holiday Home Sweet Home, and I got to go off in a little campervan and see different parts of England. I’d love to do that again with my daughter.”
