Bailey Unicorn passes endurance test with flying colours

Bailey’s Unicorn Alu-Tech has proven its quality after undergoing an endurance test ahead of its introduction to the Australian market.

The marathon test was carried out at the notoriously touch AL-KO circuit in Germany, in order to check that the Alu-Tech can stand tough conditions touring the Australian outback. Although the antipodean version features a GRP outerskin rather than an aluminium shell, Bailey has made no major engineering changes from the UK version.

The test model was put through its paces in a series of accelerated life challenges including being towed over simulated potholed ground and undulating rumble strips. Each test was paused after 20 laps for a mechanical inspection.

The Unicorn Alu-Tech successfully completed 1,000 laps of the circuit, equivalent to travelling 100,000 kilometres on the road. This marked the first time a caravan made by a UK manufacturer has been tested to this degree and validates its suitability for use in Australia.

Coast offers insurance coverage on Bailey’s Unicorn Alu-Tech from £279.66* per year. To find out more about our touring caravan insurance policies, call Coast’s sales team on Freephone 0800 614 849 or visit our Quotation Page.
