Britain’s burglary hotspots revealed

If you live in Manchester’s Chorlton district or Herne Hill, London, you might want to take extra care when securing your home, as these locations are among the top 10 burglary hotspots in the UK, new statistics have revealed.

An online aggregator compiled data on burglary claims made to insurance companies by homeowners over the last year to find out which parts of the country are most at risk of uninvited light fingered guests.

The M21 postcode area in south Manchester topped the poll, with around 45 claims per thousand people made over 12 months, with London’s SE24 postcode close behind.

London had the highest overall odds of burglary attacks, as regions of the capital city occupied seven of the top ten spots.
