Get involved with The Landmark Trust’s Golden Weekend this spring!

This year the Landmark Trust celebrates its 50th anniversary. In aid of the occasion, the Trust is hosting a full programme of activities that can be enjoyed by all.

The Landmark Trust was founded in 1965 with the aim of saving important building that would otherwise be lost to future generations. The Trust have around 200 buildings in their care across the country, as well as several in Italy and France. Each building has been carefully restored and furnished so that member of the public are able to holiday inside them.

This May The Trust are opening the doors of 25 of its landmark buildings, many of which have never been open to the public before. The buildings have been carefully selected so that 95% of the British population will be within 50 miles of an open landmark.

At 3pm on 16th May 2015 local groups, community choirs and other musical groups of sorts will simultaneously perform a specially commissioned Anthem for Landmark by acclaimed young composer Kerry Andrew. The charity hope that this will unite local communities across the country in a wonderful shared celebration. (www.landmarktrust.org.uk)
