Liverpool set for indoor caravan park

There are only a handful of indoor caravan parks in Britain, however that number could soon be expanding thanks to a group of entrepreneurs.

Liverpool businessman James Moore, architect Miles Falkingham and designers Simon Rhodes, Tim Speed and Paul Speed have unveiled plans to create ‘Camp and Furnace’, an indoor caravan site based in the Merseyside city’s Baltic Triangle.

Camp and Furnace will provide an all-weather holiday venue that captures the spirit of a music festival, with hopes of setting up a programme of music events at the venue during the year.

The grand opening for the new recreation space has been scheduled for the beginning of June, with initial attractions lined-up to include the Liverpool Art Fair, The Art Show S/S12 and Threshold Music Festival.

“We’d all enjoyed a decade or so of going to festivals and wondered what it would look like, if we took all of the best bits and brought them together under one roof,” the architect remarked to Caravan Times.
