What security devices are available to you?
Caravans and motorhomes are often the target of thieves, so it important to try and protect yours the best you can. There are numerous security devices out there to help you!
Here is a list a few security devices that are on the market:
Wheelclamps:
–An Autolock wheelclamp– a device which prevents the vehicle from being moved, therefore making it harder for someone to steal.
– An Apache Clamp– a small, lightweight and strong clamp to prevent movement of the vehicle, again deterring thieves.
– A Bulldog Clamp– a Bulldog clamp is another variation of wheelclamp, this clamp is heavy weight and heavy duty, so is great for a larger vehicle.
–AL-KO Clamp– the AL-KO secure lock provides over 30,000 security combinations together with a drill resistant lock and anti-pick tumbler mechanism, ensuring that your caravan is highly protected from theft.
–Samurai Wheelclamp– the Samurai wheel clamp is suitable for most wheels from 10 cm to 20 cm with tyre widths ranging from 145 to 255. It can be fitted to steel and alloy wheels so is versatile and suitable for a range of vehicles.
Hitchlocks:
Using a hitchlock is another way to protect your vehicle. It is a visible theft deterrent so will often put people off even attempting to try and steal anything. Trackers:
A tracker is another security device that can be used to protect your caravan or motorhome. Here are some trackers and their key functions…
The Hallocat Tracker– the Hallocat uses satellite positioning and mobile phone technology to remotely report your vehicles current position, therefore allowing you to keep tabs on your vehicle at all times.
The Metis Tracker– the Metis tracker is hidden inside of the caravan or motorhome and uses GPS to constantly monitor its location, alarm system and leisure battery. Any changes to these factors will result in you being alerted by a text message or phone call.
The Phantom Tracker– the Phantom is a small box that is installed on the inside of your vehicle, the box sends out signals which allow you to track the position of the vehicle within a 3 metre radius.
Traffic Master- the Traffic Master can be used to pinpoint the exact location of your vehicle. If your vehicle is stolen the tracker will locate where it is every 20 seconds. The vehicle will then be found and returned to you free of charge.
