2013 Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show cancelled

London’s ExCeL Centre will not be hosting the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show in 2013 following its debut event this year, it has been announced.

Show organisers the National Caravan Club (NCC) decided that the ExCeL was not the right venue for the show in the long term due to logistical problems such as its location in a Low Emission Zone and the lack of guaranteed storage space.

As a result of these concerns, plans to hold the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show in 2013 have been cancelled and the NCC is looking at alternative venues for future exhibitions. If a new venue is sourced in suitable time then an event will still go ahead next year.

“Excel is a magnificent venue as we have witnessed during the Olympics and provides a world class visitor experience,” commented NCC spokesperson Anthony Trevelyan. “The decision to cancel the 2013 event has not been taken lightly and it is not a criticism of ExCeL’s visitor facilities.”

“We are obviously disappointed not to be welcoming the show back for a second year but understand how important it is for show organisers to meet the requirements of their target audiences,” added ExCeL’s David Pegler.

Although it’s sad news that the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show is on hold for now, there are still plenty of other caravanning shows coming up including October’s Motorhome & Caravan Show at the Birmingham NEC, where Coast will be exhibiting.
