Changes to French driving regulations

Any Coast customers planning to travel to France after 1st July this year should be aware of a change in the country’s driving legislation.

From next month onwards it will be a legal requirement for all vehicles in France to carry a disposable breathalyzer on board. This includes foreign vehicles travelling through the country.

Although the police force will exercise leniency initially, any vehicle found not to be carrying an NF approved breathalyzer kit after 1st November 2012 will be issued with a fine of €11.

Purchasing a breathalyzer isn’t the only thing you need to do before travelling abroad: you should also check whether your leisure vehicle cover is up to date before setting off.
