It’s now halfway through Lent – welcome news for those members of the Coast team who have given up their favourite treats! With Easter on the horizon, we’ve put together some caravan-friendly suggestions if you’re thinking of taking a well-deserved break over the long weekend.
Convoy for Heroes
Prestwold Hall, Lancashire
A weekend away, the chance to take part in a world record attempt and raise money for charity – what more could you ask for? Any caravanners with a Range Rover or Land Rover towcar are invited to take part in the Convoy for Heroes event, which will generate funds for Help for Heroes. For just £70, participants you can enjoy a weekend of camping, entertainment and competitions, culminating in an attempt to set the longest Land Rover convoy record on Easter Sunday. Dolbryn Campsite, Carmarthenshire
For a peaceful break with plenty to keep the younger ones entertained, Dolbryn Campsite is the perfect venue. Set in a secluded site two miles from Newcastle Emlyn, a small welsh market town, Dolbryn will be hosting an Easter extravaganza from Saturday 7th – Monday 9th April. Activities includes basket and egg decorating, treasure hunt, egg rolling and an Easter bonnet competition.

Haven Holiday Parks, nationwide
Haven is offering a number of deals on Easter breaks for touring and camping visitors at its 23 holiday parks in England, Scotland and Wales. Prices start from just £22.75 per pitch without electric hookup and include access to on-site leisure facilities including swimming, kids’ clubs and a spa for grown up rest and relaxation. Outdoors @ Hay Easter Festival
Hay-on-Wye, Powys
From Good Friday until Easter Monday (6th-9th April) the Welsh town of Hay-on-Wye will be transformed into a hive of outdoor pursuits, aimed to provide a social camping experience for groups of family and friends.
Among the sports and leisure pursuits on offer will be archery, bushcraft, canoeing, climbing mountain biking, raft building and walking, not to mention a traditional Easter egg hunt! Camping costs £6 per head with no pitch fee, some activities will be offered free of charge and others will incur an additional charge. Click here to find out more.
South Coast Caravan & Motorhome Show
Broadlands, Romsey
If you’re interested in purchasing a new caravan or upgrading your existing model, head along to the South Coast Caravan & Motorhome Show from Saturday 7th – Monday 9th April.
The biggest manufacturers in the world of caravanning will be displaying their latest models, while pre loved caravans and motorhomes will also be on sale. Overnight camping is available at the show in the grounds of a beautiful stately home. Camping must be booked in advance, with prices starting from £35 for two nights.
