Fatal caravan fire breaks out at Scottish caravan park

At this seasonal time of joy, Coast was saddened to hear that a woman has died following a fire at a caravan park in Scotland.

The blaze broke out in the early morning of Saturday 14th December at Kilrenny Mill Caravan Park, and 35 fire fighters attended the scene in an attempt to quash the flames.

Sadly, once the fire had been extinguished, the body of a female – who has not been publicly identified – was discovered and an elderly gentleman also required hospital treatment.

Incidents such as this highlight the importance of taking the utmost care to limit fire risks in your caravan, motorhome or park home. Even if it doesn’t cause harm to you, fire can have a devastating effect on your leisure vehicle – from destroying your contents to writing off your entire caravan or motorhome.

Although we can’t prevent fire, Coast can offer you caravan insurance or motorhome insurance that will protect your leisure vehicle and its contents if a blaze does break out. For a free quotation call 0800 614 849 or get an online caravan insurance quotation.
