Glow in the dark roads: coming soon?

Anything that can make driving a safer activity gets a thumbs up from Coast, however we weren’t quite expecting this to be the latest development: road markings that glow in the dark!

Studio Roosegaarde, a Dutch artistic firm, has invented the paint, which also reacts to cold weather – showing snow flake graphics on the tarmac when conditions could be icy.

According to motoring website PistonHeads.com, the new illuminating paint is being tested in southern Holland and could be rolled out throughout the country and into Europe if it proves a success.

Of course it’s vitally important that you pay attention on every journey you take, leaving even more time and driving cautiously in winter months to account for extreme weather conditions.
