Picking the perfect campsite
Now spring has officially arrived, we’re sure that – like us – many of you are starting to think about your summer holiday.
If you’re planning on taking your touring caravan or motorhome away with family or friends, sometimes it can be tempting to choose a tried and tested location for your vacation. After all, the campsite is an important part of the holiday experience and going somewhere that you know has high standard facilities and a friendly atmosphere gives you an added peace of mind.
Fear of picking a bad campsite shouldn’t put you off venturing to a new part of the country, however: the Coast team encourages our customers to explore as much of the British Isles as possible! With this in mind, we’ve put together a few helpful hints when looking for a campsite in an unfamiliar area:
· Decide what type of site you’re looking for – you may want a location that can offer amenities such as a swimming pool and kids’ entertainment
· Bear in mind that larger sites are likely to have more regulations and formal instructions
· Check which sites in the area offer electrical hook-up if this is something you require
· Look up the campsite’s website to see if its won any awards for its facilities or services
· Once you’ve narrowed it down to a couple of options, search online for reviews of your favoured sites
· Also check internet forums for informal feedback from fellow campers – we advise you to look at more than one feedback site to obtain a balanced point of view
It’s not just the campsite you need to consider when booking a holiday: it is also important to ensure your touring caravan insurance or campervan insurance is up to date.
